Our Story
Aharamastu was born from a simple but powerful belief: the food that nourished our grandparents is the food that should nourish us today.
In Telugu, Aharamastu (ఆహారమస్తు) means “Let there be food” — a phrase that captures the spirit of Telugu hospitality and the central role food plays in our culture. It is a blessing, a welcome, and a promise all at once.
We started Aharamastu because we noticed something troubling: the karam podi and spice powders available in stores were increasingly filled with artificial colours, preservatives, and flavour enhancers. The bold, authentic taste of traditional Andhra cooking — the kind made in home kitchens with freshly roasted ingredients — was disappearing from shelves.
So we decided to bring it back.

Why Traditional Matters
Modern food processing prioritises shelf life, uniformity, and cost over nutrition and flavour. Spices are irradiated to kill bacteria (also killing beneficial compounds). Colours are added to make powders look “fresh”. Preservatives extend shelf life at the cost of your health.
Traditional methods — dry roasting in brass vessels, grinding fresh, small batch production — preserve the essential oils, antioxidants, and micronutrients that make spices genuinely beneficial. The difference is not just in taste. It’s in nutrition.
At Aharamastu, we choose the traditional way. Every time.
For the Telugu Community & Beyond
Aharamastu was created first for the Telugu community — for those living away from home who miss the authentic taste of Andhra cooking, and for those at home who want the real thing without the effort of making it from scratch.
But our products are for everyone who appreciates bold, natural, nutritious food. Whether you’re a lifelong South Indian food lover or discovering Andhra cuisine for the first time, Aharamastu brings the true taste of Telugu kitchens to your doorstep.
